The SPELD Victoria Bookstore now offers an excellent range of classroom bundles which include multiple copies of each book in the series. These bundles are designed for use in classrooms for reading groups, intervention programs, or as take-home readers. These bundles make it easy for teachers to ensure that all students have access to high quality reading materials at the right level.
This bundle contains three (3) sets of the Island Adventure, Rescue and Talisman 1 series (90 readers in total) along with one (1) of each of the corresponding, photocopiable workbooks (three workbooks in total). All three series in this bundle focus on alternative spellings for vowel sounds and can be used in parallel.
Island Adventure
The Island Adventure workbook is photocopiable, and contains phoneme manipulation and comprehension activities for each story.
This series of 10 books introduces more alternative spellings for vowel sounds. Each title has 16 pages in full colour, with exciting and motivating stories and illustrations. The targeted phonemes in this series are 'ae', 'ee', 'oe', 'er', 'ow', 'oi', 'oo', 'ie', 'or', 'air' and 'ar'.
The Rescue workbook is photocopiable, and contains phoneme manipulation and comprehension activities for each story.
Talisman Series 1
The Talisman Series is an exciting fresh start for older students who need to learn the phonic code. The series of 10 books introduces the vowel sounds and their alternative spellings. Original, striking and motivating illustrations and stories will appeal to struggling or reluctant readers.
With a reading practice page, vocabulary page and multisyllable words split for the reader, these highly-decodable books ensure reading success. Each title has 16 pages in full colour.
The Talisman workbook 1 offers activities based on the phonic focus of each of the books. Students will benefit from practising word-building, blending, reading and sorting activities. The workbook also includes follow up activities such as comprehension, spelling and writing to help maintain interest and variety. All activities are fully photocopiable.
