Word Origins is an evidence-informed new program from DSF designed to provide the next step in spelling, reading and vocabulary instruction for students in middle to upper primary school and beyond. Designed to follow any high-quality structured phonics program, Word Origins targets student knowledge of the morphological regularities of English, and the etymology, or language of origin, of our vocabulary, and the impact these elements have on spelling, reading, and word knowledge.
Suitable for use in both whole-class and intervention settings, Word Origins includes complete lesson plans, resources, and assessment materials for Level 1 of the program (Levels 2 and 3 to be released in 2025).
